So my girl and I took the new Firecat up to the tug, and we noticed that we could not stand up and ride it. You had to hunch over. Which tired us right out. She is 5-7, I'm 5-11. What are all the seasoned firecat guys doin so you can stand up ride??? Big risers??? I know I want an 05 seat on there now. I saw one on e-bay for $230. Wish I could find something taller than an 05 seat actually. My knees were in my chest. I don't remember feeling ass cramped on my zr440. Did my f10 spoil me???

But it feels like the machine needs 3 or 4 more inches. Is that possible???

I've got an '05 Firecat. Obvioulsy has the '05 seat and I've got the 6.44" riser on mine. I don't have to hunch, but it's as far of a reach as I'd like standing. However they feel like "ape hangers" when I am trail riding (sitting). I love them. An 8" riser would be nice for standing, however I think the 6.44" is a nice all around compromise.

Also I came off an 1997 Poo Indy. My knees were really in my chest. So I now feel like the sitting position is great.

here is my custom 8.75" riser on my 05 F7. Worked amazing. I feel out of possition if i ride anything lower than this now. On an 03/04 chaincaser, you can go up to 8" of rise without needing brake or throttle extensions.

So I ordered a 8" powermadd riser and It came in today. I put it on and this is what it looks like. Took it for a quick spin around the yard and its perfect for standing up!!! I definately see what you are saying about with riding sitting down. I am trying to get a custom seat made cheap. I can buy the foam for a 05 for $90 and a friend of my girlfriend upholsters boats and may be able to use the05 foam and the foam from my 04 seat and custom make me a seat for less than the 240 dollar seat off ebay would cost...

I just tried out my ROX on the past 2 rides and they are great, when I'm ditch banging they are at 8 and then when I get into the trails its down to 6". I don't know how anyone could ride trails with the bars at 8". Best thing I have put on my sled. Make sure you get the wrench-less lever kit, it sucks having to use a 13mm wrench when your out riding.

How do you guys like the ROX adjustable risers. I was thinking of getting the adjustable 8" ones for my 06 f7. I do alot of standing with the guys, but I'm afraid to just regular 8" because I do ride with my girl and her family alot, and they are more into sight seeing, so I end up sitting.[/b]
is there any wobble or play in these risers. im looking into them, but i dont wanna get them if they feel loose when using them. i want them to feel nice and solid like a solid 1-peice riser

i just noticed u have an 05. what kind of extensions did u get. and where from?

and by "fair bit of flex" how much would u say. an inch of play? and is this side to side? front back? twisting?

im really just debating a solid riser vs. these adjustable ones[/b]
anybody know??

You misread what I said, its the steering shaft that flexes. It will flex no matter what riser you use adjustable vs solid. I ride hard and the adj risers never move, they are worth it. I got an RSI brake line from jspowersports.com. The throttle cable works fine but I would like to get one out of a crossfire just so it doesn't pull at all. The other wires are a non issue up to 8", anything longer and you might have more work on your hands.
