How hard is it to do this swap is it just a matter of taking the 580 and bolting straight into the 550 chassis? becasue i thaught the 580 and 550 shared the same block , as i read on here somewere recently.So how much work would be into doing this ?

just make sure you have all electronics, carbs etc off the 580 and it should be bolt right in.

i did the swap from a 93 ext 550 to a 96 cougar 550, everything swapped fine sept the pipe, you'll neew the motor mounts out of the cougar as they are slightly dif, other then that it bolted right in, good luck with the transplant

im not going to do it anymore , i seen a chassis for sale, and figured id buy it and swap it , but when i called the hood is apparentyl smashed so its no good to get and there is no suspension or steering or anything
