I am new to the forum and new to Arctic Cat. I bought a lightly used 2007 H1 650 a couple of days ago. It has 277 miles and 30ish hours. The problem is battery/charging issues. After sitting awhile the battery dies. Once isolated, the battery will retain a charge. So ive narrowed it down to a parasitic drain(i think). Here is my problem- i have spent hours with a DVOM and cannot find it. The stator appears to pull an initial .8 volts once i stick the meter inline but then peters off. While running im getting 13.8 to 14.2 volts idling. If you throttle up a little, the voltage begins to fluctuate alot. Jumping between 8 and 14 volts. Shouldnt the regulator smooth this out? Could the regulator/rectifier be bad causing these issues? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I knew it had an issue before i bought it. Thats why the previous owner wanted to get rid of it so cheap.
