I have a 2004 dvx 400 new top end new gaskets newer head from eBay new exhaust cam stock intake cam I’m getting 25psi timing is spot on didn’t really think much about it thought it was the decompression mechanism but it would just pop over so I directly put gas don’t the carb still popping take spark plug out put gas on the plug still pops then decided to do some research witch I should’ve started with they say around 110-140 psi so instantly regretted all that time wasted so I decided to check the clearance and exhaust perfect .009 both lobes then intake one was .006 witch from my research was good but the lobe on the left hand side closest to the shifter couldn’t even slide in my smallest gauge witch was .0015 so I’m sure it’s always open what I’m getting at here is.. Is that the my cause of no compression I have a shim kit coming soon just wanted to see if anyone could let me know cause I have no other clue what it could be so this is hopefully my fix.
