I need help with the adjustment. It uses way too much oil and smokes like a chimney. Smells super hot and the oil light comes on. Wtf!?

The oil light means the tank is starting to run low. Typically once the light comes on, you have enough oil to mix with 1 full tank of fuel leftover.

To adjust the oil output, you need to sync the pump arm by lining up 2 marks. One mark is on the arm and the other is on the pump. You want to alight the marks at full throttle. I usually will clamp the throttle open and check the marks, you may need a small mirror to get down there to see it. Simply lengthen or shorten the cable to line the marks up.

(This works on 600’s where the cable pulls up on the arm. If your model has a rod linking the throttle bodies to the pump, and the pump arm moves down, then you lengthen or shorten the rod linkage). I’m not sure what year the rod and downward moving pump arm started...
