Will a wet clutch, on its way out, tend to slip more when the engine is cold? I notice on mine when I first get on it after it has sat overnight or longer, it takes a lot of throttle to get it moving. I thought the brakes were sticking, but if I put it in neutral it rolls easily. After that it moves like normal. I think my clutch is on its way out anyway and plan on changing it this winter, but I was curious if anything else could cause this issue.

I recently took off my wet clutch for the WCD I have 800 miles of abuse turning either 30" or 31" tires using nitrous and going WFO, to my surprise my wet clutch still looked new... When I rode in the winter I didn't notice a difference

I don't mean cold weather, just a cold engine. Mine has about 2500 miles on it now. I think it was used for towing some. I know I towed some heavy stuff with it. It just takes a lot of throttle to get it rolling that first time. After that it is not as bad.

I have a new WC in my 02 500 and I do notice it seems to work better when the engine oil is up to temp. It doesn't take longer for it to engage off the line when it cold but it feels like the atv is faster when the oil is warm. I don't beat on it until its warm anyway but just saying. This is all in spring/summer/fall weather.

OK. I am betting mine is on the way out. I will run it tomorrow and see how much RPM it takes to get it to even roll when cold, and then again once it is warm. It usually takes 1/2 throttle for that first take off. After that it is "normal". It just seems to be getting gradually worse. Last week when I was on vacation I towed a couple of Popo's home for a total of 30+ miles, so I am sure that didn't help it any.

Yeah mine engages with little throttle effort. So you probably need a new WC and a good maching on the drum.

Yes. Mobil 1 4T. It is made for motorcycles and wet clutch safe.

I have an 05 arctic cat 250 with the same issue but after it warms it's fine I've tried clutch adjustment but that didn't help at all so yeah I think it's time to replace them
