I have a 99 ZR600 and have been having some problems this season. The sled starts right up and idles good, and if I keep on the gas it runs awesome. It's when I'm going slower speeds that the engine will just cut out for a sec and I loose all power like the engine dies. Then if I feather the throttle it will come back to life. I have noticed it backfire a few times as well. Anyone out there that could point me in the right direction???

Check out the post "ZR/Zl bogging, cutting out" on this page of the forum. You have bad TSS switch. You need to take care of it because from personal experiance I can tell you there is no bigger pain in the rear than getting half way across a road, having the sled stall, sputter, stop, die, fart and miss when there is a truck bearing down on you.
The easy fix is unplug the kill switch block on the bars. The best solution is to cover the middle terminal with heat shrink and plug it back in. You get to keep the kill switch but lose the TSS.
