I ride 7-10k and run 65# with a standard secondary, and hit 8100 like clockwork. In fact I was going to try and run 68# to bring it down to 78-7900. Do you have twin pipes? what springs/helix? Are the powervalves clean, and installed correctly? Where did you get the motor, and was it ported for high altitude? Many factors.
I've got some 63# if you want to try those. $25 to your door.
Valves clean and correct,44\40 helix w green spring, just got motor back from speedwerx set up for my alt.A guy at a/c shop here has same setup, and claims he runs 69g w stock clutching. Maybe I just need lighter weights, but spdwrx reccomends 65g at my alt?
Bad secondary setup, what spring is in your prim.
It would run better with the stock setup 63# yellow/white, 36* white, hard rollers, and adjuster turned in 1/2". Mine ran 8100 all day with this setup, and turned a constant 41 mph trackspeed at 8-10k.
I have SJ team setup now with 65# and still turn 8050-8100. Haven't had it on a hill yet, but hoping to see a solid 45 mph. Might need to throw a little more weight at it to see how it runs at 7900 rpm.
Talked to cat shop today, says he's running stock helix with platinum spring w 69g weights, says he hits 7900 on a hard climb.Guess I'll try it,but how will the 10.4 conv.secondary affect this?I think he's stock, therefore gets a bit more belt slippage as well. Thank you guys for replies.
