I purchased a clutch puller for my 2012 F8 and I believe the threads are 9/16. Cat website says it should fit 2010 and newer. The clutch bolt on my 2018 is metric so I’m assuming I need a metric clutch puller. Is it metric ? and if so what thread is it. Sled has team clutch and secondary

According to photo’s description, it’s the correct one. Wondering if they had a mix-up at packing?

Semi-metallic (matte) blue coloring will be the metric puller, green (matte type) coloring is the pre-2010 for all but those 2007-on models listed in your pic (those take the metric//blue) one

I tried to thread puller into clutch very gently and could only get a 1/4 turn in so it’s definitely the wrong puller. So from your last post the 2018 team clutch is metric ? Do you know thread size so I can chase threads in clutch. The puller I have is not coloured ( black). Thanks

Did you order factory puller??! If puller is black, it’s aftermarket, as Cat has them color coded.

The 2018’s have been using the blue (metric) puller at dealership I recently left. Yes, the TEAM PRIMARY’s are metric threaded, hence the blue Cat oem puller.

See 660catmans post above, 14mm x 1.5mm thread pitch IS correct.

It was factory puller but for per 2010. Going to exchange it next week for the blue puller. Dealer messed up
If it was for 2010 MY sleds, it should have been metric. How could the dealer have messed up? It would have had to been the supplier sending the wrong thread puller.

I can’t figure this one out either Lol. The colour coding is a good idea. It’s idiot proof

Off topic a little but related...

Anyone know if my blue puller will work on my '20 zr8000? Sounds like it should from what's written here already just wondering if it's known for sure yet?

Thx

We haven’t yet been notified as to whether or not there will be any changes in pullers, but, at this point in time, I’d have to say “Affirmative”, yes it SHOULD be the proper one come then.

If not, I’m sure there’ll be a notification about it to show up on here.

Your dealer ordered your black puller, no?

IF they did (order it), or had black puller laying around from years gone by (before color coding had began on oem Cat pullers), you may have received older OEM one that was 9/16” threaded with Fine Pitch threads (which will NOT work in your application)

That’s where I’m thinking the issues lays. Or they ordered aftermarket one and got the 9/16” puller by accident or by not researching part numbers properly.
