im having severe issues getting the clutch off of my 1994 ext 580 efi i have the clutch puller threaded in but the clutch will not realese also i am wonder what is the best way to to the primary from spinning while threading the clutch puller? any suggestions

I use a round rod put thru the primary towers (at the thickest part of the towers) and rest it on the secondary, use impact in small bursts and she pops right off.
