I was adjusting the spring tension on my 660T turbo touring and the plastic nut on the cam stripped and broke. The dealer says Ill need a speacial tool to remove the spring to slide off the cam and replace. He wants $50.00 just for the labor.Ive got the part. Now hes got me gun shy to remove the spring. Can I do this myself and if so how? Thanks, Not worthy:

Thanks for the feedback! I will give it a try over the summer. Its still works for now. So go after the long end with the bar and un-bolt? Cant get a bite on the short end, not enough spring sticking out past the cam..

It's not a big deal, just raise the rear of the sled and hold the spring(with gloves) as a pal removes the bolt that holds the retainer to the rail. It does have a bit of load on it, but it's not really that bad. After you do the first one, the second one will be a breeze.
