Carb Kill Switches

I've been looking at the wiring diagram to try and figure this out. It's a 91 EXT special. So for the handle bar kill switch to work do the carb switches need to be hooked up? As far as I can tell in order for that switch the carb switches need to be turned on for that kill switch to be able to kill the engine. I thought the carb switches would just kill the engine and that switch would also do it, they don't rely on each other. Right now I have them bypassed but I'm curious if I decide I want that handle bar kill switch.

So if the wiring is the same as the one in the video that should do what I want. Currently I have the ground and the middle wire jumped on that plug by the gauges. I have the carb ones unplugged. Now I'm confused because according to that video the engine should die when I give it gas, mine doesn't do that though. Unless there is some magic going on. I guess I'll be playing with that this weekend after I get the clutch figured out.

And yes it's a closed to run, ignition needs to be grounded.

The detectors on the carbs serve two purposes.
1. To tell if the slides are stuck open or not.
2. To kill the spark if they are not moving.

A third and little known function is if the carbs are too far out of synch it will interfere with the spark too.
Most are unhooked/bypassed because of this reason [someone did not think to synch the carbs].

Found out those carb switches do not work. Can't figure out the kill switch on the throttle, I think it's bad. The switch for when you move the throttle does work. I need to mess with it more to figure it out now.

Looking at the diagram I would have to jump red and white on that three prong handle bar plug. That should be all I have to do since the high speed switch works.
