i thought track was skipping but now when i was out riding with son on back, it got alot worse grinding and and slipping. nursed it two blocks home. seems problems is in chain case. any ideas?

Bad bearing or a munched tensioner/chain...

what bearing? i got a parts sled, so if i had time, knowledge, help. i should be able to fix soon but, its dark out and its in front yard broken.

Either lower driveshaft, or upper jackshaft! Pull the cover off and check it out! if the chain looks OK. pull it and the gears off and report f rom there!
