Arctic cat has some steel plates that go on the inside of the tunnel...those are the ones I went with. got them just for some added security, although I haven't put them on yet. My deal said they've heard about the bent tunnels and see the pics, but they've never personally witnessed any bent.

Cat supports seem to be the best because they are strong and you can not see them. You do have to yank the skidframe to install these. But, Erie Power supports are solid. Go over to HCS and check out the supports that Krom is making. They look like the ones that Cat should have made. I have seen bent tunnels on the trail in the UP. The guys that did have bent tunnels said that it was from real hard riding.(One big hit)
The forum talk is a little different. Some of these guys sound like the tunnels bend more easily.

xfire rod, Why isn't the support sitting/resting on the floorboard ?. I could see the gap which could cause some potential damage underneath. IMO, I personally believe that the support should be attached to the tunnel and floorboard to prevent any further damage. Erie Power's a nice store and have spoken with a nice fella by the name of Todd as I have been there twice when I was on my way visiting my Uncle in Newark.

When I designed my supports last spring I wanted them to be strong, and not ruin the looks of the sled or running board traction. The large radius on the bend, makes the tunnel much stronger, and they look like somthing the factory would use.

The pic of the support was taken before I installed them, they are just sitting on the sled. I will say the one from erie power only has a 90 degree bent to them, so I took them to a machine shop in town and had them bent to 110 degrees. They fit perfect. The ones Krom are nice ones also.

I haven't put them on yet, but I got the AC ones. They go inside and surround where the bulkhead connects to the tunnel, leaving no weakpoint. I considered Kroms but the don't work with the bulkhead and still leave a space of weakness were the bend is happening. They would be better if they were cut to go around the front clip

Has anybody actually put the AC tunnel supports on? They appear to go inside the tunnel but there is a major problem. The heat exchanger pipe runs up in the top of the tunnel. If you drop the heat exchanger pipe down to get the brace in all of the holes for the heat exchanger pipe will be out of place by the thickness of the support brace. If you don't drop them out of the way the short end of the brace will have to rest along the bottom of the heat exchanger pipe.

I have them on mine they wrap around the bottom of the tunnel. See the attached pic (I got the pic from bee1971).
