I know this is probably a stupid question with a simple answer, but I got my belt off using the old pull up on the belt hard trick that I read on hear, but how the heck do I get the belt back on?? I can't for the life of me get the secondary open. I grab the front of the secondary (the tower where the spring goes) and turn it clockwise but it doesn't open, it just turns a little. I'm sure it is easy to do, but I've never done it before and it is frustrating me to no end bang your head

Thanks everyone!

Put the belt on the primary first. Then set the belt on the top of the secondary push the belt down into the sheaves while with the other hand twisting and pushing on the front of the secondary hard. When the belt drops in an inch or two hold it down and wrap the rest of the belt around the secondary.

This is one of those things that is easier done than said. Basically, you do as X2guy states. The trick is to get the secondary to open up, then stuff the belt down between the sheaves, and then wrap the belt the rest of the way around the clutch. The owners manual actually has a good section on this, may want to check it out.

Just another quick tip. Install the belt so you can read the text/numbers on the belt (e.g. readable while installing on the clutch side of the engine). Not that it makes a bit of difference, but if you decide to change the belt, and later reuse it, it is best to install it in the same orientation as originally installed.
