Posted this in the utility forum but guess it can go here. Was just thinking the other night about the chain being the most common method for the final drive on sleds. Is there any reason that a belt such as those used on some motorcycles wouldn't work? maybe they wouldn't take the constant changes in torque some sleds are subject to? (brapping)

belt drives have been sold for mountain sleds for quite a while.
They don't hold up to trail use, because of shock loading

Didn't know that some had them. And that is what I figured was the reason. thanks
