Arctic Cat's Tiger Trax (What is the weight rating)

According to Arctic Cat the weight of my 2007 Arctic Cat Diesel 700 is to heavy to put their Tiger Trax Track system onto. What is the actual weight rating of these tracks?

I don't get that. It's the same length as the trv 1000 cruiser which weighs in at 798 lbs and yours weighs in at 844lbs (2010 model). Since the trv should be assumed to carry 2 people, the machine when under operation should weigh in more than yours. Would it have anything to do with the torque the diesel generates?

Thats what I dont understand either. The only other thing that I can think of is that the clutch system is different somehow? Either way turning a gear that makes a track go around or turning a wheel (in theory) shouldnt be any different. Generally with a track it makes it easier on the motor because the gear it turns is smaller than the tire itself? Right? It says in the accessory catologue that the tracks are excluded from being used on mudpro's and diesel models. Anyone else know why or have some kind of explanation why I cant put Arctic Cat's tracks on my ATV?

I think it is because the super dutys are geared so low. I know they have at least the 3.6 gear, i think most of the bikes with the track kit have the 3.1... The tracks provide 30% gear reduction so your talking SUPER LOW, espcially if airdam can work his magic on the clutches.

But how does "gearing" justify not being able to use the tracks? All that tells me is that it is going to be slower? Im fine with slow, this diesel is slow as can be anyway. Still wondering what the actual weight rating is for the tracks too?[/b]
I think you may be forgetting the "back 1/2" that lower gearing offers - HIGHER RPMS. Typically most diesels are not fans of high RPMS & your CAT is a small diesel compared to most other platforms out there.

I'll hazzard a guess that AC doesn't want you to "blow-it-up" due to the higher RPMS and have it come back on them.

Other tracks are avialable, right? Like Mattracks... Probably cheaper then the cat ones too.[/b]
Mattracks are running about $3500 for the tracks then you have to buy the mounting kit. And from what I have seen the Camoplast traacks are around the same. I found the Tiger Trax for $3195 plus the mounting kit.
