I've posted this a bunch of times over the years

The first digit represents the country of origin. The most common are:

• 1 or 4 = USA
• 2 = Canada
• 3 = Mexico
• J = Japan
• K = Korea
• E = England
• W = Germany
• Z = Italy

2nd and 3rd letters signify Arctic Cat

4th and 5th are model year
6-8 are type (SNW snowmobile, ATV, MPV prowler etc)
9th is a check digit
10th is the last digit of the year (9 = 2009, A=2010, B=2011, C=2012 etc)
11th is a "T" This one I don't know why, just that its always a "T"
12-17 are the "serial number"

the 11th character is the designator for the assembly plant, Cat has designated TRF as "T", and since this is the only plant that produces sleds it is a constant.....hope this helps.....:beer_cheers:

So how would one bounce that against the numbers identifying the correct manual to use? My S/N is 204677 however, when looking up the manuals, they have alpha/numeric numbers following them (i.e. (A2005ISH4BGMC), (A2005ISH4BUSA), etc.)

Those are MODEL numbers, not serial numbers.

You are making this way, way more difficult than it ever needs to be. You don't need the model number, I spent almost 25 years in parts/ service and never used it a single time.
In 05 this is all you you need to know for any mechanical part:
manual(foot shift) or automatic
solid rear axle, or FIS (A-arm rear suspension)
normal or TBX (dump bed)
For body parts (I'd be shocked if any are available) you also need:
color
normal unit or LE

TS is tony stewart LE, mechanically its the same as any other 650v2 from 05.
