I was cleaning my air box/filter this weekend and pulled the drain plug out. I have never noticed this before but mine has a slit on the end, right at the tip. You can actually run your finger through it if you wanted too. It seems that it would defeat the purpose of having the plug.

Is this common? Do I have a faulty plug?

no sir,, it's made that way so if you get water in there you can squeeze the nipple ( haha i said nipple) ans the water will run out.
i don't really trust them as far as not letting water in so i filled all them up with RTV black silicone. so you can still peel it off if needed

there are also two more down low where each tranny snorkel is if you wanna plug those as well.

have fun!!!!!!!!
