I'm looking at getting a 400 auto le. What's the story on these atvs? I'm mainly going to be trail riding and riding through the mud. I'm not looking to get an atv that will go real fast. I know the 400 is not known to be a speed demon but for all of the features you get for the money, I think its a good deal. And my little girl likes the color (RED).

i think they are all available in red.
i have a 400 and it is a great bike, not a powerful bike, but it has yet to let me down. i only have about 550 miles on. and the only mods that i've done are listed in my sig. i did however just pass it on to mrsezg, and she enjoys riding it almost as much as i did.

o yeah, the le package looks nice, but mine is always muddy so looks were not worth the added cost and i got a venom 3000# winch for 90 bucks. i do wish i had gotten the bumpers though.

It's strange that the LE is 7 pounds lighter than the 400m and 16 pounds lighter than the 400 auto even with the winch and the the aluminum wheels.

You will be happy with the 400 if your not expecting a ton. it is a very capable ATV just not extremely powerful or fast. I am suprised every time I ride it what this machine is capable of. The 500 is not that much more, if you can swing it get it. Otherwise set aside $250 for new tires and at least 100-120 for a winch (i have Mile Marker from costco). I got the dealer to include a plow for about $200 with mine. I paid 5900 for the atv, the plow and a AC helmet (I love the helmet). Dealer was asking 5950 for the machine when I started. None of the local dealers would beat that but I am in Montana and there doesn't seem to be a lot of competition. Most dealers will not reduce less than 200 of list price. Yamaha in particular.

Good luck, you will be happy with watever you buy. Almost all of the machines I rode were fun and plenty powerful (Suk (engine supplier for AC 400 and 500), Yam, AC, Honda (didn't like at all), Kawi)
