I have a 98 carb zr600 that I bought with a noticeable exhaust leak issue, I rode it for a bit and it got very bad so I decided to replace the gasket, but the new "oem fit" gasket i got from Denis Kurk didnt fix my issue, upon looking at videos and pics of other 98 zrs I realized that the flange or whatever on other peoples sleds fit over thr gasket unlike mine. So I'm curious whats going on here and more curious on how to fix. Link to video. Below, thanks for the help!

The flange (bell) on the exhaust pipe that fits to the gasket has broken off. So you have just a small portion of the flange left. I have had to replace a few over the years. I will see if I can get the part number. May be easier to find a used pipe still in good shape depending on your location.

I sent you a PM, here are the sleds that use the same expansion chamber. As you can see the 2001 and up used a different part.

BTW, I wouldn't run it with that new donut you got. The old one got all chewed up because your expansion chamber was ripping into it. The expansion chamber should wrap around that donut and not dig into it. (The one I have is off a 98 ZR 600 EFI LE)

Didn't plan to, so I understand the newer models have a different expansion chamber, But will it still fit on my sled? I could switch pipes and I assume I would need to re jet it or make some adjustments to my carbs if I did that right? A guy in my area wants 50 bux for the pipe and silencer so I feel like that could be a good deal.

That is correct. I have not found that part number. I will ask a buddy who might have that number tomorrow.
Did u ever manage to find that part number? Or do you know what I can search to find it? I did a quick search and didn't find anything.

I have not found my old parts book with that number. I thought I gave it to a buddy with the same sled but he said no. Sorry.
