On the older cat chaincases with the crappy rubber seal that goes around the outside perimeter of the case, are you guys still using them, or just using a bead of silicone. I have one on my other sled, and am debating whether or not to get a new seal or just let some black rtv set up. I just don't want a leak, so i was thinking the new seal and spot gluing it in place to keep it from moving.

Those thing's are a bear, My brother's EXT has that style gasket and the ONLY way we got it on was to use clear finger nail polish around the seal and push it on little by little and let it dry, any other glue/sealer-like stuff wouldn't work at all for us. Hope this helps.

Another reason why I put a late model chaincase in my 6000! bang your head

You might have better luck tipping the sled on the side when re-installing so gravity is on your side- I've sucessfully re-used old gaskets with no glue that way. :chug:
