Hello everyone!!
Having a couple of issues with my new to me 1993 580 ext...
I'm a new rider so just learning to fix these things.
Well I guess you can say I have the acticat bug.
Early winter bought a 1993 wildcat 700 and loved it so much, I sold my other sled (80 Everest) and bought another arctic at(1993 580ext) -
Someone has put straight pipes on it and had it idling at 3-3.5k just before clutch engage. I think they were dragging it.
After I got the idle down I noticed it runs lean and bogs/won't rev up until you give it a shot of choke the revs up fine.
Could this be wrong pressure with pipes and need to rejet them? or are carbs just dirty? The sled has sat for a couple of years.
If I need jets does anyone know what type and where I could find them?
Other than some bog, this sled rocks, just like the wildcat only sounds cooler.
Thank you!

1971 Arctic Cat Panther

How awesome are these sled?
I seen one the other day and wanted it so bad but already bought to cats this year and no more cash. Maybe next year. I hear their not fast but never get stuck? does anyone know about these and what to watch for? There is an add listed for one on my local radio station Classifieds | CKDR.net
Maybe next year I can get another cat.

Whats was the top speed on the 71 you had?
Still a cool looking sled...I'm a sucker when it comes to vintage stuff.
Dont have much to compare weight wise. I have only owned 80 everst(not bad for weight), 580 ext(good weight) and wild cat(heavy pig) but so much power you never get stuck.
