Just got a cross fire and noticed the clutch was rubbing on the foam. There is a ring on the outside of the clutch is it supposed to be there? Ill try to post a pic

You have the Thunder Products Additional Bearing Contact. That "ring" you refer to is the adjuster for the sheave to belt clearance. The ring is threaded and can be adjusted to make up for belt wear. I run mine at .020" clearance. The little screw locks it in place.

Rubbing through the foam is pretty common on lefthand sidehills... no biggie.

Be happy about the ABC, that's a nice mod.

Read up on it a bit, it's good to have, but like anything adjustable, it can work against you if you have it set wrong.

I removed the foam all together. It's just a few clips that held the foam on. The foam is there to dampen the clutch noise. There is no danger in removing it.
