My 2008 crossfire 800 starts and runs great at low rpm. At high rpm it is backfiring and bogs down. I have checked spark plugs, reeds, clutch springs, power valves taken out and cleaned, tes switch disconnected. I am out of ideas? I had put on a handle bar riser… thought that was the issue so took it off… same thing. Any ideas?

Hi curious if you happened to find the solution? I'm having the same problem and have checked all the same things. Need to check my fuel pressure though and curious about stator and or ecu possibly. Thanks.

My hunch is that you have cracked reeds. I used an iphone endoscope to look before removing the injectors in my 2011 800 crossfire: endoscope . Please let us know what you find.
