I have had this 400 for 3 years its been great for what I have done to it. This last winter I have had problems turning on packed dirt or tar and it rips grass up with the inside tire any ideas? ...

That's is normal. Rear drive is positract meaning power is applied to both rear wheels 100% of the time

yea the rear DIFF isn't a differential at all, technically its a spool.

nearly all ATV's ever sold have this type of rear end. Some old Yamaha's and kawasaki's and a few modern polaris models have a rear that can be "un-locked"

Tire pressure, speed and weight distribution can have noticeable effect on steering push and lawn damage.
