mine did the same thing before , turned out to be loose wires. Check the ones by the oil filler cap, thats where mine was. dont be in too big of a hurry because it keeps the odometer from working too!!

I know this is old thread. But I have the same prob with my 09 550 h1. What did you do to fix your problem ?The speed sensor is not working right on my ride either...I mean 80mph with a 400...I don't think so...lol
Do you know which color wire is the speedo value for the gauge? Set your meter to continuity mode, use some alligator clip end and some sewing needles to stick into connector ends. Check and make sure wires from speedo connector to sensor don’t have breaks in them. Also, check resistance to ground in wiring.2009 700 EFI LE speedometer not working. I replaced the speed sensor, checked connections on the pod and the speedometer is still not working. This is not a digital speedometer, it has a needle showing the speed. Switching to RPM mode, the needle moves accordingly. I checked all wiring and I don’t see anything loose or frayed. I really dont want to buy a new pod. Any thoughts?
