I'm new to this site and joined in hopes of getting help with a non-starting machine brought to me for repair. It appears it's a 2007 650 h1. Installed a fresh, fully charged battery and the engine turns over properly. Pulled the plug and no spark at the plug. I installed a new plug, plus tried the plug from the machine in a different machine and that plug fired with strong spark. Have read many of the posts on this site and others about this condition and it appears to be a common problem on these machines. Have checked the fuses and diodes in the fuse box with a meter. The kill switch is in the run position. Moved the kill switch to the off position and the engine will not turn over so I believe it's working as it should. There is no voltage to the coil, either with the key switch in the on position, or while spinning the engine with the start switch. Have searched for a repair/service manual for this machine as directed by posts on this site. Upon checking the countrycat.com link from this site, looks like their manuals are for order, were mostly operators and owners manuals and not necessarily service manuals, and not free. As suggested in another post, I will try disconnecting the Black/white trace wire from the CDI unit as this will take any of the of the shut down switches out of the circuit and if it were to then have spark, it would then point to one of the shut down switches as the problem. This was a helpful procedure on several Polaris machines we've worked on as some of them have four different shut down devices and could present problems. I realize the stator and it's pulse/trigger coils are also a potential problem as is the CDI box itself, but as with most troubleshooting it's usually something simple and those are the things you check first. Any help or suggestions would be welcome and appreciated. Would also like to find a source for a wiring diagram for this machine.
