If you take it for a ride make sure you put something between the pads before hitting the brakes or you will pop a piston on the caliper

Push the piston all the way back till it’s flush they wiggle out.

I put a little grease inside the rubbers before I put the slide back in. Not on the outside it attracts dust.
If the grooves are deep it could cause the pads to bind up a bit. Put return springs on them.

Check your oil pump drive gear carefully.

Chipped or broken teeth on the drive gear. It was a known problem on the early 650’s

If you bore 10 over pretty sure you will go through the Nikasil anyway ? Was It smoking?

It’s a 12v accessory’s plug. Should have a cap for it.

Line the timing marks up in the inspection port. When you are TDC on the compression stroke both valves should be loose.

Correct it is a wasted spark system. Once you have the cam and timing marks lined up that is when you adjust your valves. That way you are on TDC compression. The timing marks in the inspection port will line up on TDC compression or TDC exhaust stroke. If the timing marks don’t line up your cam is not timed properly.
