Hello all! I have a 05 500 used as my acerage work horse for plowing and such in the winter it's been acting like it has a rev limiter... won't let me rev past 4000 rpm. Spits and sputters.. starts fine idles fine. Runs fine if you shift early! Lol I'm leaning towards the gear position sensor any input would be great thanks!!!!

If you pulled a diode out and put it in backwards it will do that. They can only go one way. Pull it out and you will see which way it is supposed to go

Check your voltage output at battery while idling and then revving it up, lights on and then off. It could be a sign the voltage regulator is not working. You want no more than around 14.6 volts at high rpm.
