I just bought a 2004 ZR 120 and I am tearing it down for a complete rebuild. I have an issue removing the shock from the upper arm. I actually think the shock was upgraded already (yellow spring) and installed incorrectly (upside down). I can't seem to be able to remove the screw cap attaching the shock to the. A ARm as the bolt hits the a ARm so I am unable to remove the bolt. Do you think the mount was welded to the ARm incorrectly or is there a trick for removal. Please see pic.

Well it got in there somehow. Can you remove spring off shock on these?

It would not matter if I took off the spring 1st, I still would not be able to remove the bolt. I am wondering if the mount got tweaked, bent or was welded on after the fact, it's off a qtr inch. I am asking if anyone had run into the same issue.

Use a grinder with a cut off wheel and cut the bolt, then use a slightly shorter bolt.
