My fuel gauge lenses keep going yellow/cloudy/cracking, I'm on my 3rd fuel gauge in 12 years, has anyone removed the gauge and installed a plug of some sort? has anyone ever replaced the lens on the gauge with something else? The only think I can think is the ethanol is messing with the clear plastic lens.

I’ve changed mine in my 03 and 05 once. They are starting to cloud up again but not as bad. IIRC it’s been about 5 years now. It’s not ethanol as mine have never seen ethanol fuel. I’m sure it the fumes and heat that does it. Mine are in the garage when not in use. And they’re not as accurate as the originals. Tank is full and both show 3/4 on the guage.

I think you are right with the ethanol gas. Don't know if you have non ethanol in your area , but worth a try. I had them go bad on my old 500 and 400. Switched to non ethanol seemed to fix, but eventually traded for newer Cats.
