I know the eiger 400 and the Cat 400 are the same engines, and I recall they run the same belt. I used to have a service manual that spec'd a new belt at 30mm toast belt at 28mm, then the newer service manual says 29mm, 28mm.

When I lookup belts on Gates site and on Revco.ca the belt they spec for the cat 400 is 13C3218 the one they spec for the eiger 400 is 19C3218

I'm used to ordering the 13C3218, is there any reason I can't order a 19C3218, is the .5 degree angle change going to change much? I'm thinkin 1mm wider will provide me with a lower gear ration (slightly) for a longer lasting lifespan (more wear space) I cannot find where the 400 belts used to be spec'd at 30mm wide, but at some point they changed to 29mm.

I'm assuming cat changed their old belt spec to match the newer machines when they changed clutches so they didn't need to re-tool their supply or sort out different part numbers and supply.

If i can get a 19C3218 for same price any reason why not?

I appreciate any prompt input, payday is tomorrow, and I'm thinking I might be due a new belt, was in the thick pudding mud last weekend and having issues getting my tires turning, belt in there is roughly 5 years old, has gone swimming a couple times, smoked once, I'm sure it's time for a refresher.
