Hi all,

I'm interested in doing a manual to auto swap on my 2003 400 fis. I realize it would almost certainly be easier to simply buy an auto machine, but this quad has immense sentimental value.
Having said that, the wife doesnt like shifting gears.

A buddy has a 2002 solid axle parts machine that's an auto.
How comparable are the two? Drive shaft outputs the same? Same engine controls? Will my shifter hook up?
I'm guessing it will be a pretty easy swap, with only minor mods required.

So theres the wind up and the pitch, any input?

Other than motor is actually 375 cc's vs 2003 and newer being 376 cc's but both air/oil cooled. I quickly looked up output flange which is the same. CDI fits auto only so not sure if Manual and Auto plugs are the same. Harness is 2002 only. Lots to think about for a complete harness change.

That's about what I had figured. Itll physically fit where the manual was, but the supporting functions are slightly different.

Would almost need the whole parts quad to make it work.
