Evening

Having some issues and I am stumped.
I won this sled in a friendly game of poker about 3 months ago :grin

2001 Arctic Cat Mountain Cat 800 LE (Black) twin carbs

When I got it would not start ; been sitting for 2 yrs before I won it.
I cleaned the carbs with B12 and it fires on the 3rd pull with the choke on.
Let it run for a few minutes then turn off the choke and it jumps up to around 3000 RPMs then slowly comes down but gets so low on the RMPs it dies. see attach video.

The fuel/air values are 1.5 out from fully in.
Fresh gas/lines flushed of old gas.
New spark plugs.

Seems like something is kicking in and forcing the the RMPs down like a auto choke.
What should a check next, timing?

Thanks
Joe

Ok carb boots are good no cracks/rips etc....

I put it on a stand and ran it wide open and is was bogging around 7K and when I let go of the throttle it back fired.
So I am going to tear down the power value and see if it is staying open etc.. (it may be just dirty as heck).

Question where is the timing marks on this machine. I have a timing light and a battery.

Thanks
Joe

*Update*
The power values are working fine and the actuator is working.
I did find a cracked fuel line in the tank that was sucking air over gas. (Replaced line)
Now it will start on the first pull after I primed the fuel pump.

Going to wait until first snow fall and run it wide open for a few miles and see it is cleans up the rpm issue.

So now to clean the body and start the custom wrap on the hood. Thanks Corder Design
