Thx for adding me to this group!,Just picked up the 2001 250,and noticed the rear diff cap says 10-40,shouldnt this have gear oil in it instead? Do the front and rear diff use the same gear oil?,What is the best weight and type of gear oil 80-90,,75-140?? Dose anyone run 20-50 instead of 10-40 in the engine, I know it needs to be a JASO rated oil. Any other info on this atv would be appreciated aswell!!
THANKS GUYS!!

It's 10-40 wet clutch certified oil you add. You can also use 0W-40 Cat ACX oil if your in colder weather a lot. DO NOT use any motor oil off the shelf either. They cannot contain any friction modifiers as most do. DO NOT USE gear oil in it's place. Use gear oil for front diff on 4WD models.
