I took a 20 mile ride tonight. After 13 miles the over heat light came on. we had been riding in about 4 -12 inches of new powder. i would drag my feet to let extra snow go in my track and it would solve the issue for about 5 mins. then the high temp light would come on a agian...what confuses me is that it came on so late in the ride.. where do i start to check what is going wrong?

Ice build up on the heat exchanges [bridging] can prevent sufficient cooling too.

i think i nailed the problem down thank you! the coolant was low, but not enough to screw with things.. i pulled the thermostat and it ran nice and cool. thermostat problem.
