Buddy has a 98 zl 500, What are the electrical wires that go to the side of each carb? Heating elements? It runs fine I was just curious. Thanks.

I believe it's a magnetic safety switch. If the carb gets stuck wide open it will shut down the machine.

I had trouble with mine several years ago. If you disconnect that the engine won't run.

I bought mine with those unhooked and it runs fine.

On 98 and newer unplugging them bypasses them. 97 and older unplugging them makes it not run.
