I have a 1998 Bearcat 454 that is missing and backfiring in 4th and 5th gear when I push the throttle. Now before anybody says anything yes I have rebuilt the carb soaked it blown it out and set the float level. It is a Mikuni carb and I disconnected the primer pump and just plugged the line to the carb. It starts right up idles great and does great until i get into 4th or 5th gear and I am just cruising along. If I press on the gas in 4th or 5th gear it starts to spit and sputter and backfire. If I let off the gas a little or down shift it catches up and runs good. It was doing the same thing in every gear before I rebuilt the carb put the correct jets and set the needle. They were at a high altitude before I brought them down to sea level. Any suggestions? I know a DVX 400 Carb is what a lot of people have gone to on these just wondering what DVX Carb I should get. I have been looking at them on line and there are a lot of different ones out there. Thank you
