I am working on my buddies kids Puma. He was riding and it started to run poor...shut it off and it wouldn't restart. No spark on either. Thinking 3 possibilities outside of a worn wire or shorted switch. Bad coil, bad CDI or Stator. Can anyone tell me what the resistance is supposed to be on the coil? What's a good way to check CDI? Which output from the stator is for the coil? The lights work fine on this thing. Thanks!

ignition off the stator should be red/white black/white about 160 ohms and red/white to black/red about 17 ohms.

Secondary side on the coils are usually 6-8K plus 5K each endcap.

There's not really a good way to test the CDI.

Thanks for the info! Turns out the issue was nothing more than a bad connection to the coil. The powdery snow amplified the issue when it got wet. Cleaned it up and applied some dielectric grease and it runs like a champ!
