91 Jag AFS Special (Thats twin carbs and a 39" ski stance)
Rode this thing for 10 years. Love the lightweights!

1990 EXT 530 SPECIAL was the sled that scoop originally came on (which this maybe I dunno, maybe it is a '91 with it added on and graphics) along with the '92 W/C 700 fuelies,, the '90 530 EXT ''SPECIAL'' is the sled A/C truly broke into the factory backed X/C racing scene with that season

I think it is a 90' but the registration has it as a 91, But from many part's microfiche diagrams of the hood only come up as a 90'.... weird. Anyhow we updated the suspension on his rig to a 98 ZR suspension, excellent upgrade on this sled!

The seat is definately a 91 and the rear side pods with reflectors are 91. The 90 ext special had a black seat with green piping and the arctic cat on the seat was green. The 90 also said special on the rear side pods not afs. The 91 ext had the same hood as the 90 specials except for the front vent that you could and still can get from arctic cat. The decals on the hoods were the same except for the 91 had eltigre by the ext on the side wich was a seperate sticker you could take off.

This sled was built with alot of CAT parts.
The engine began life as a 650 twin (wildcat)
With a little magic performed by a guy name John Noard
it became a 975 triple with N20
The sled ran consistently in the 127-130 mph in 660'

i bought a 91 EXT new in 91, added the hood scoop myself. The scoop also came stock in the 91-92 Wildcat EFI that was in the AFS chassis! :beer_cheers:

Needs some work hood has some paint missing and the left pod will need to be replaced i will also need to rebuild the engine because it has 55 psi on one side and 110 on the other. But otherwise in excelent condition. here is some pics for all enjoy.

Heres my 91 EXT. Its been sitting in a barn for 10+ years, and i dragged it out last fall. Rebuilt/replaced the usual parts. Runs like a top now and for only a 530 motor and almost 20 years old it is a fast sled. I added a set of plastic skis off a 90's ZR, and fox front shocks off a 90's cat. In a week or so I plan to swap a 98 ZL rear skid under it to get a decent amount of rear travel, and get adjustable fox shocks out back as well.






I will get pictures of the skid swap and some more screwing around.

No idea, i dug them out of a buddys trailer. Only reason I think they are off a cat is he runs nothing but cats, and won't let anything non-cat near his stuff.

needs a pair of skis and some work to the seat, but overall pretty good shape for a 91
