Hi all, I just finished rebuilding a 1974 El Tigre 440 and am having issues of it cutting out at high rpms. I have replaced all of the seal and gaskets, new spark plugs, new cdi, new coils, new flywheel, rebuilt fuel pump, new fuel lines, new fuel filters, cleaned the fuel tank, fresh gas, and rebuilt carbs. It starts up just fine and idles and I can rev it up to about 4000 rpm but then it starts cutting out. Sometimes I can get it to rev up past 6000 but it won't stay there. I do not know what is going on, any ideas?

If you have the original clutch, and original exhaust ( back flow), make sure wire orientation is correct, make sure your choke isn’t sticking at all. Make sure your new coils are OEM. Good luck brother
