My guess, going by personal experience is it will not work with a 70 pitch chain...be too loose. I ran 19/39 with 70 pitch and it used almost all my adjustment. Tried a 68 pitch and could not get it on, too tight.

20/43 with a 72 pitch chain is close to the same thing and should offer plenty of adjustment.
