How did you test the VR/rectifier?

did it by the procedure and on running atv. Also had a spare one and tried with it but same result.
So what voltage are you seeing at the battery when it’s running?

when it starts it drops to 11.9 than in goes to 12V and nothing over.
You should be seeing 14.2-14.6 ish while running. It should not change with or without the lights on. If you’re only seeing 12, the battery is being drawn down when it’s running.

meaning its charging but something is sucking up more power? or is it not charging, im consfused.
It’s not charging enough. With a failing VR you will see voltage drop when lights are on or extra current is drawn.
09 700's had some wiring harness problems. It's possible that the VR testes out right but the wires leading off are chaffed.

the wires that are exposed seem to be fine. I didnt open up the protective tube where all the wires all run through though. Is it possible they rubbed themselfves off inside? this is a pain in the ass
