I'm at about 600' above sea level. I just bought a 03 550 pantera and the plugs are wet an black (rich). Should I try one size jet down first and keep going until the plugs read right or is there a formula/table for jetting by elevation?
I have an 02 Pantera 550- I run in the mid range alot and found the same thing (plugs black as coal with bits of carbon on them).
I raised my e clip (dropped the needles). That did the trick. Left the stock jetting alone. Try this first and see if it helps.
Your adjustments need to be made based on were you are running. If you are 7/8 to wide open and still your plugs are soaked with fuel or you have an excess build up of carbon then for sure it is you mains.
