I have the 02 zr600 CCE...we rode for a bit then stopped to get gas and I noticed that the rear suspension had been very low with little travel and spring and that the bumps were drastic and very soft. so we figured just needs a shock rebuild and itll be ok for the night. But when we stoped again i noticed that the travel had moved back up..SO we figured that maybe it was frozen..This model has the rear adjuster too so maybe we should mess with that? and which way tightens the shock? I still think it is the shock but im not sure what would make it do this but that..? Thanks for any info...

The adjuster on the handlebars adds oil to the front shock. Clockwise=more ski pressure. If it is riding soft and not pushing the suspension out of the tunnel first check to see if anything is broke. The shocks probably need to be rebuilt but, check everything else out first.

The dial adjuster & shock needs to be rebuilt. Very common for the dial adjust shocks.

As mentioned above your shock could need service but keep in mind that any riders over 160# have likely swooped out the stock rear springs for something with more preload. The CCE rear spring in near useless when new and junk shortly thereafter. Find some with 83 or 75 degree angles. The 90 degree stockers don't offer enough pre-load to support even the riderless sled.
