My primary on my 1978 jag engages sloppy what could course this and what could I check when it’s disassembled

I have a lift kit on my 78 jag all it basically is is just flat bar to extend where the skid frame goes I’m thinking those need to be made stronger so they don’t shift or could it be something else?

I can’t get it to idle it starts find and I can rev it I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find anything wondering if anyone could help

hey guys so ive made some progress with these sleds but ive hit a road block. since getting them i have cleaned the fuel tanks, put new lines and filters in, and taken the bowls off the carbs to spray out all the jets and ports with carb cleaner... both started and ran around in a circle for me...
