  1. 2007 AC H1 broken cam

    Utility Performance / Technical info
What year did they come out with the updated gear? I have a 2007....
  2. Ticking exhaust valve

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
Well howdy howdy all! Been a while. I just picked up a 2007 650H1. Had one long ago and loved it so I bought a used one (sold my 2013 550). I adjusted the valces to .003 on intake and .005 on exhaust. It had a ticking noise before and it's still there now after adjusting the valves. Just...

  4. Bevel gear wear pattern

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
Looking for a shim that is 25mm ID and 1.00mm thick.... Got one?
  5. Bevel gear wear pattern

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
I think I had an "aha" moment. I think backlash is right but I need to shim the drive gear to get the teeth deeper in the gear valley. Hoping that's my huckleberry.
  6. Bevel gear wear pattern

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
I'll have to check the ID and thickness I would need. When I built my 750 I did not have nearly this amount of slop in the output shafts. Texted you a video.
  7. Bevel gear wear pattern

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
Looks blue in the pic but it's not blue. Just worn. No heat stress
  8. Bevel gear wear pattern

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
Hey all, Last rodeo for me and this 550. Tore the engine out one last time. I was assured the backlash was perfect but the gears don't appear to be worn properly. Looks like I need to shim them together a touch? I have quite a bit of play in the output shafts too. I'm getting a whine and...
  9. 05' Arctic Cat 650 V2, engine noise

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
You don't need wet clutch oil for the 650V2, as it doesn't have a wet clutch. The primary clutch is bolted directly onto the crank itself. Many things this could be. Valves, loose timing chains (these engines are notorious for that), or worst case scenario your rod bearings are going out...
  10. EFI, TPS and DTC code checking plug

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
I'll have to check that next week. Leaving for Lake of the Woods tomorrow morning. I thought about the coil, but then thought about it more. Once it starts, I can turn it off and it'll fire right back up like normal. Wouldn't that eliminate the coil from the conversation? How do you...
  11. h1 700 wiring issue

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
Check your starter solenoid. If you don't have power to your ignition fuse, I would then check your keyswitch and wiring.
  12. EFI, TPS and DTC code checking plug

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
I did not test any of those. I adjusted the TPS, but that was it. I figured that if they were bad, they would trip the computer and throw me a code, but perhaps not?? If I do this again, I'll have to bring it over to my friend's house again. Cold temps and plastic parts/wires don't work...
  13. EFI, TPS and DTC code checking plug

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
I didn't test the ISC. Would that contribute to the hard start? Once it started up today, it seemed to idle fine.
  14. EFI, TPS and DTC code checking plug

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
Hooked it back up, then hit it with a hair dryer trying to see if it would start better. Nope. Same thing. Could it be that it's not pressurizing enough when the pump primes? But if that were the case, wouldn't it always start hard?
  15. EFI, TPS and DTC code checking plug

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
well, I removed the sensor and it tests fine according to the manual, but it's got me questioning if it's still bad or not. The test only tests it down to 68F. Well, at that temp the machine starts and runs just fine. Wondering if the sensor is bad when it reaches the colder ranges?
  16. EFI, TPS and DTC code checking plug

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
AND, I pulled the spark plug today and it was all black. EFI should be a nice tan color I would think. This plug is not tan in any area at all. Will try testing the air temp sensor.
  17. EFI, TPS and DTC code checking plug

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
Could it be that I just found the issue? https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/symptoms-of-a-bad-or-failing-air-charge-temperature-sensor In the warm garage, it started just fine. In the cold, no joy. This summer, it started like a dream.
  18. EFI, TPS and DTC code checking plug

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
I let it sit out there for a couple hours, and it started, but not nearly as quickly/well as it did while sitting in the warm garage. Got me thinking...do you think the air temp sensor is bad or something? Once I get it to start, I can shut it off and it'll start right back up as it should...
  19. EFI, TPS and DTC code checking plug

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
Well, I brought it to my neighbor's heated garage and let it sit overnight. Today I checked and the cam was in perfect time. After buttoning everything back together, it fired up in about 2 revolutions. Super quick, as I would expect. However, it started flashing "EFI". It was an AC14...
  20. EFI, TPS and DTC code checking plug

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
I'll have to check those wires. But first, I'm going to check the cam tooth direction. I'm going to bring my ATV over to my neighbor's next week, let it warm up for a few hours, and check the cam timing. I'm thinking about this over and over, and the fact that it coughs trying to start has me...
