    Is it in limp mode?
  2. 650 v2 reliability 2004

    General ATV Discussion
That's a very good engine, problems were choke and frames. If it's 7k on it, it didn't have a bad frame or it was repaired. The engine if it was well maintained and never ingested water etc. The only way to get an idea is a compression test/leak down test. That's a little...
  3. '08 Arctic Cat 650 H1 - Rear Bumper

    General ATV Discussion
I don't remember which years we a little different. But I got a bumper that didn't fit on my 05. Country cat was nice enough to replace it with the one that fit. My point be careful and look up part numbers to verify.
  4. Arctic Cat 6x6??

    General ATV Discussion
I looked at the can am one and it looks almost bolt on. I don't think they will but the new prowler would be the logical choice or maybe a havoc. I don't know if they will put any money into ATV's any time soon.
  5. New to me 550... what should I check over

    General ATV Discussion
Use a ATV/Motorcyle oil only. Get a spark plug, Check your motor mounts too, mine are rubbing on the engine a little. This is all standard stuff to check, otherwise it is a very solid machine.
  6. 2005 650 h1 wiring schematic and plea for help?!

    Shouldn't be a problem
  7. '05 Arctic Cat 650 V2 Engine Replacement/Rebuild

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
Did you check the airbox? Do you have oil in it? Pull the spark plugs and see if it cranks over easy. Find the leak, it's important to know if it's simple or a cracked block.
  8. 1st Ride In A Wild Cat

    Wildcat
Very cool. Greg is it harder to wait to get yours now?
  9. snow plow size and brand for 2002 400i

    ATV Plows
Most of the plows on the market seem to be pretty good. I wouldn't go smaller than 54". When angle it will only be as wide as your quad, maybe. I'll recommend a moose plow as I have used and abused one for 3 years and have had no problems. Plowing is murder on plow winch cable, even the...
  10. suggestion to cheaply reduce gearing

    Utility Performance / Technical info
Being geared high is the nature of the beast. Your 06 has 4.0 diff gears which is the lowest Arctic Cat has. FYI kawi uses a 4.3 gear ratio. Beside clutch work the other option is a bevel gear change. The kawasaki Teryx came out with lower ratio bevel gears, so you can swap a few...
  11. 2009 1000 cruser over heating bad.Help.

    General ATV Discussion
If you blew the fuse you, I'm guessing you ride in some water. I would recommend getting a circuit breaker that replaces the fuse. You won't have this problem again. Member Sanny 651 sells them. Also the radiator does get packed with mud and then fails to provide enough cooling...
  12. Wildcat and legroom??

    Wildcat
I have a close up pic of the rear from last weekend at Haydays. It's on my phone but I'll try again to get it on the computer so I can post it. I was suprise to see they didn't have one.
  13. Ring gear question

    Utility Performance / Technical info
I might be stating the obvious but you need to do both the front and rear. So a 11t pinion and a 36T ring will work? Or does the 09 have a 10 tooth pinion?
  14. need a winch???

    General ATV Discussion
A couple of thoughts: If your riding partners all have winches you probably don't need one. A tow strap works faster and is what gets used way more then a winch. A winch is only helpful if you have something solid within 50ft to hook to. In snow a shovel will get you out too. A lot...
  15. Rad Fan Motor

    General ATV Discussion
I would look for a complete 12v auto fan replacement. They don't cost that much. I would pull it out and start shopping for something of a similar size.
  16. no limit wheels

    ATV Tires and Wheels
I think I would pass on the swamp lites and get some radials. Check out big horns, XTR's or my favorite terra crosses. You can't go wrong with the ITP wheels.
  17. frame choices

    Utility ATV repair, maintenance, troubleshooting
You need a 04 650 frame. the 05 went to the new body style. You can get a frame from your dealer. Since the 04's were known to have a frame problems a new one is probably your best bet. From what I have heard you need to cut the vin out and send it in to get a replacement frame.
  18. Some Advice.

    ATV Tires and Wheels
I would look at ITP's website, specifically at the tires that end in cross. A set of 15" rims and ITP ultracross tires would be cool set up. Plus not many people running around on 15's.
  19. Should I Trade or Not...

    Prowler
I would do it. Cat happy The 700xtx is a very nice machine. I think the values are comparable, too. I would ask the owner if the prowler has ever had a problem with the front differential. If it's been replaced or repaired great, if not I would be looking into it. The weld on the...
