ok guys iam lost i confused on what spindles will work for this? If anybody can give me a list of every spindle that will work that would be much appreciated thanks
i did some more research and i am puzzled by tthis problem that i am having. My spindles are the stock ones that were on my 96 zrt 600 and they are the aluminum ones they should be fine according to a post on the aglt thread. But the issues that i am having is that the spindle will not line up with the new a arm.s i read on another older thread about some mounting tabs??????? i am not sure if this applies to me or not any help would be appreciated thanks a ton.
Do you have the shock mounted? If so, it needs to be mounted upside down.
The middle tabs on the chasis that used to hold the 2 armed a arms needed to be removed so that the new traingle a arm would fit.
I do not have the shocks on at all just trying mockup. The top arm is back a little to far it seems like so it will not line up. Arms are off a 2002 cce. Will these tabs prevent the top arm from going on at all?
Are you having issues with both sides? I'm having that issue, but suspect it's more to do with bent A arms. I've never had an issue with which way the shock mounts though.
The tabs that used to hold the split a arms need to be removed - I used a sawzall.
Then a spacer needs to be added at the front of the new triangle a arms ti fill the gap. Spacer must be towards the front of the sled to maintain the original geometry for steering and suspension.
You can't even mock it up with the tabs in place from the old split a arms.
I had to also drill a hole in the belly pan plastice to make room for the longer bolt to be inserted into upper a arm.
Do you have the spacers at the front of the arm where it mounts to the bulkhead? I can't tell in the picture. Have you tried the left side yet? If the left side lines up, it will help determine if you have the right arms or another issue.
I think u guys are on to something. I do believe the lower arms are not right. I ran a bunch of numbers and it appears the top arms are fine but the lowers are not Why would these not be right but the uppers are?
according to browns leisure world the part numbers for the arms that i have are
uppers 0703-939
lowers 1703-018 and 1703-019
OK I found the issue the right arm was twisted, put it on a jig to check it and it's pretty far off.. now to fix it and install. I will keep an update. Thanks to everyone who posted and again for Dan putting up my pics
I tried to call you last night because the more I thought about it I figured one arm or the other was bent because the other one lined up perfect. Thats why I asked if you ever tried the other side.
Just looked at another set last night and both lower arms have a specific twist to them. They do lot sit level on the ground, like I would have thought.
